3 Most Common Water Heater Repair Types

While most of us fall prey to taking our water heater for granted until we suddenly have a loss of hot water, it is important to be acquainted with the three most common water heater repair types a household owner can encounter.

While our water heaters are made as a durable household appliance, meant to live a long and fruitful life, water heater appliances can still suffer from the wear, tear and malfunctions that ultimately leads to repair and routine maintenance.

Should you find that you have experienced one of the three common water heater problems below or need assistance with restoring your water heater back in working condition, be sure to give Todd’s Water Heater a call. We are the main leading water heater repair, replacement and installation shop for all your water heater needs in the Denver, CO area.

In the meantime, here are three common water heater repairs to be on the lookout for:

• Broken Dip Tubes
First thing’s first, what is a dip tube? The dip tube is a pertinent part when it comes to the anatomy of your water heater. The dip tube serves as a carrier of cold, fresh water from the municipal supply and takes it down through the tank of the water heater. Once the cold water reaches the bottom of the tank, where the heat exchanger is, it then transfers the energy from the combustion jets.

Once the water begins to warm, it then proceeds to rise back to the top of the tank. Should you find that the dip tube has broken off, this will then create a deposit of cold water at the top of the tank where it mixes with the heater water.

Should you start to notice that you are encountering a sudden decrease in your hot water supply, this can often times be a cause for it. While this is one of the most common repairs Todd Water Heaters technicians can replace, this is also a rather simple, quick and affordable problem to fix.

• Failed Heating Elements
One thing to keep in mind is that all electric water heaters have two heating elements inside the tank that is used to raise the temperature of the water. Should you encounter that one of the two heating elements has burnt out, you will start to notice a decrease in water temperature where lukewarm water will occupy your shower head and taps throughout your house.

If you think this might be a problem you and your household are currently experiencing, rest assured that this is a fix that Todd’s Water Heater can fix in no time. Our certified technicians can easily open the tank and replace the broken element, restoring your hot water needs in a timely manner.

• Faulty Burner
Gas-powered water heaters on the other hand can also run into similar problems in their burner, much like those in a gas furnace. Overtime, should rust develop or dirt deposited across its surface can easily lead to problems when igniting. Low gas flow or even blockage in the line can also be detrimental issues that can lead to a loss of heating power as well.

Just like with any repair problem that is linked to natural gas, you should never attempt to do it yourself or attempt to fix it on your own due to the high health risk that is involved. If you find yourself with a faulty burner, be sure to give Todd’s Water Heater a call and our qualified staff can get this fixed in no time!
