What Water Heater Repair Customers Say About Us:
Yelp rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 110 reviews
Our old water heater started spraying water all over our garage. After looking up Todd's Plumbing and seeing and seeing the great reviews I called them and a plumber was at my house within two hours. As suspected the tank was blown and it was time to replace our 10+ year old water heater. By dinner time he had the new water heater installed. We choose a Rheem high efficiency, 50 gallon gas water heater. Now we have plenty of hot water for a family of 6 and looking forward to many years of hot water and hopefully a little bit smaller gas bills. The experience was very good, or at least as good as an emergency plumbing expense of this scale can go. I did some quick online shopping before and after talked to a friend who had to do the same thing and I am confident we got a very good price as well as great service.
I called Todd about a problem with our water heater on a Sunday morning. He listened to the problem and then explained that it was common with our brand of water heater to simply clean out an intake screen and the issue would be solved. He asked me to email a picture of the water heater to confirm his thinking. I did. He called me back and walked me through the process. His professionalism and willingness to take the time to help was commendable. I will definitely call him again the next time I need plumbing help.
The other day i noticed that the water heater wasn't kicking back on. Todd came out and did an inspection resulting in 3 options: Clean/maintain current equipment, replace part, or replace full water heater (least expensive to most). Having just moved in 4 months ago, we hadn't factored in a full replacement and thought a clean/maintain would give us an indicator of how serious it was. Went through with it and haven't had a problem with the water heater since. Great job guys! Fast, clean, and efficient.
2 days after I moved into my new home, and on a Sunday night, the water heater started leaking from the relief valve. I called around to a few different water heater repair services but Todd was the only one that called me back right away. After asking a few questions about my water heater he headed my way. It ended up being a pretty quick fix. Since he has a minimum service charge of an hour so I had look over a few future plumbing projects. Pretty cool guy.
They were wonderful. He fixed my existing water heater by calling the manufacturer to find out a flaw in that particular model. By doing that, it fixed the problem, and they sent the part he needed for him to install in my water heater. It was exceptional service. He is my hero!
I came home one afternoon to a strange noise in the utility closet and found it very very wet. I shut off the water to the water heater and the gas. I called four different emergency plumbing services to get estimates of cost and schedule time.Todd's gave me the best approximate. estimate and could be there the next morning. When Sam arrived the next day the concrete floor of the closet was mostly dry and the water heater had pretty well drained. His truck was stocked with 2 sizes of water heaters and everything he would need. He looked the situation over, carefully and patiently explained what repairs needed to be done to bring my old hot water heater up to current code. And he even said for my size home and just 1 person living there, that I would be happy with a 30 gallon hot water heater instead of a 40 gal that had been there. That made me and my credit card a little happier. He had a great bag of plumbing tools and systemically worked to remove old water heater and fittings. Then came the new hot water heater and all the new fittings. He cleaned and sweep up old wet junk in the corner and under the water heater's wood stand. Now, I have hot water again and a utility closet that is cleaner than it was to begin with
Todd was able to get someone out the same day we called. The water line to our water heaters had worked itself loose and caused both hot water heaters to short out. We were lucky the water kept running, as it was obvious it had cased an electrical fire. The fronts of both waters heaters were scorched. Not only did they replace both waters heaters the same day, Todd also encouraged us to call our insurance company and file a claim. We had no idea any of it would be covered. He was right! Not only did the insurance cover the water heaters, but it also covered Serve-Pro to come out and dry the areas, spray for bacteria, and place fans. They returned and removed all the sheet rock, insulation and wet cardboard that had been left on the floor of the crawl space by the previous owner. They will also replace all the insulation and drywall once the area is completely dry. All this extra work was covered by our house insurance and about 1/2 of the work Todd did for us. We would never had known we could claim this damaged until we were encouraged to look into it. Without Todd's encouragement these repairs would have cost us a TON of money. We can't thank him enough.
I called Todd on a Thursday or Friday to get pricing on a new water heater. He called me back very quickly and gave me pricing and a lot of helpful advice. I got two other bids and his was comparable to the lower of the other two, and I decided to go with him because he had been so helpful on the phone. We scheduled the work for the upcoming Monday. Todd was very responsive to all of my phone calls and he showed up exactly on time (no 4 hour window or anything like that, just a time he would be there). He removed the old water heater and installed the new one including expansion tank, safety drip pan, and emergency cut off. A part as provided by the manufacturer was not working correctly so Todd substituted in a more expensive one that he had in his truck for no additional charge. He also took care of a few small things around the house while he was here and gave me advice on another project. He did a great job, was very punctual and responsive, very helpful, and overall was great to work with. I would definitely use him again.

Todd's Water Heater Repair Questions & Answers
Check out some of the most common question our technicians get asked when they are out in the field.
In comparing the standard and super water heaters structurally speaking, there is no difference between them. Warranty options, insulation, as well as the components used are where the differences between the two water heaters lie. Super efficient tanks tend to contain better elements, a larger anode rod, as well as a higher efficiency rating. The warranty that comes with a super-efficient tank covers the manufacturer’s defects for a longer period. Should you decide to buy a super-efficient tank, many energy companies offer a mail-in rebate. Give us a call today and talk to one of our installation technicians about your options for the super-efficient water heaters we offer.
Production of hot water per hour solely depends on the groundwater temperature as well as the temperature degree rise that you require. One thing to note is that a standard residential gas water heater can produce 35-45 gallons per hour or hot water. On the other hand, an electric water heater with 4500-watt elements tends to heat approximately 18-25 GPH and 5500-watt elements provide 25-35.
It is as easy as 1, 2, 3! In taking down the make, model, and the serial number of your water heater and giving us a call, we are more than happy to locate the age of your water heater.
Tankless water heaters, also known as “on-demand” water heaters serve as a great option for some people, however, vary in application. Unlike a tank-style water heater, tankless units are not able to store heated water. Instead, the water in a tankless water heater is heated in seconds as it comes out of your faucet. To determine if a tankless water heater best suits you and your needs, many factors need to be evaluated before installation. We provide estimates and quotes to help you navigate the right decision for you and your water heater needs. Give us a call today and let us help get you back on your way!
Often, rust begins to develop on the outside of your water heater over time once your water heater is nearing its life expectancy. Most water heaters’ life span on average is about 10 years however can go longer or live shorter on rare occasions. If you find that you have rust at the bottom of your water heater, this does not necessarily mean that the lining of your water heater is compromised either. If your water heater happens to be more than 15 years old, it might be time to consider replacing your water heater to prevent a messy and rather wet situation.
High water pressure is notorious for damaging water heaters, piping, and even appliances. Should you find that your home is operating at a water pressure higher than 80 psi, it is necessary to consider installation a pressure-reducing valve to limit any incoming pressure. This is a fairly common yet unexpected problem that can reduce the life of your water heater if not treated.
Yes! Simple measures such as taking shorter showers and shutting off your water heater when you are away are just two of the best means to not only save money but to save energy when it comes to your water heater. Think in terms of how much you pay to heat water that is used every time you take a shower, run your dishwasher or laundry machine, or even enjoy your hot tub. By choosing to replace an inefficient or old water heater with an Energy Star tank or even a tankless water heater, this can help you save at a minimum of $100 per year on your home’s heating and water costs. Talk about getting the most bang for your buck!
First things first: try to find where the puddle of water is coming from if you can. Your water heater lining might be shot if it appears that the water is stemming from the bottom of the tank. If this is the case, this unfortunately is not repairable and requires a water heater replacement. Instead of letting the leak turn into something more severe, we strongly suggest that you replace your water heater sooner rather than later.
Is your pilot light out on your gas water heater? If so, you can try relighting the pilot. If you do not feel comfortable, not sure how to do that, or have any questions or concerns, feel free to give us a call and one of our skilled and certified technicians are more than happy to walk you through the process.
Try resetting the unit or double-checking to make sure your breaker switch has not been flipped in the off position if you have an electric water heater. You can also first try turning the breaker switch off and then on for a hard reset.
If none of these troubleshooting measures have improved, feel free to give us a call and one of our certified technicians are more than happy to help. We offer same-day service, 24/7 customer service, and affordable repair and replacement options. Call now for a quote on our water heater services!
Loud rumbling or banging noises stemming from your water heater is a result of thermal expansion. What this means is, oftentimes sediment settles at the bottom of your tank, creating more difficulty for heat to leave the bottom of your water heater. While these sounds can be disturbing and terrifying at times, this is your water heater’s way of saying that it is working a lot harder than it has to or should be. If this is the case, this will likely shorten the life of the tank and create a less efficient water tank that can be more costly to make operations in the long run.
